100 Days - Books as Christmas Presents - Children and Young Adult

Christmas is a big deal at Crowvus HQ. Those of you who have followed our progress for a while will know that we love Christmas and do it in a big way. With only 100 days to go, it is never too soon to start thinking about preparations for the big day, especially since the delivery services are a nightmare at that time of the year, and there is no guarantee that things will not be held up in the post. So here we go, on a shameless advertising push, but one which is sure to make your bookish family and friends thrilled with their gift! Books make a brilliant present. Why? Because they offer the gift of adventure, of imagination, and of escapism from the crazy madness of the world today. And you don't have to only read a book once. In fact, after reading a book with a twist in it, it can be twice as enjoyable rereading it to see all the clues along the way. #HistFicThursdays - An Open Invitation to Historical Fiction Writers: #HistFicMay


 I'm always impressed by the power of social media in spreading the word about books and writing. In the hope of giving back to that, I'm going to be running a social media event throughout May to help spread the word for the fabulous historical fiction authors who are in the online writing community.

All you have to do is answer the questions/challenges which match up to each day on the list. Remember, posts with pictures are always more eye-catching. You can include pictures, quotes, and purchase links in any of these. If you don't have a picture for any post, just use the #HistFicMay banner (which you can download from this blog). You can choose light or dark depending on which best suits your writing. And remember to use the #HistFicMay hashtag so I can find your post!

Book Review: A Paraphrase of "Paradise Lost" For Youngsters

Book Tour - Total Blueprint for World Domination by Jolene Stockman

Front Cover It's great to part of this book's journey! When my parents bought me my sewing machine many years ago, the gift tag read "believe in your ability and this will become your best friend" or something to that ilk. This book reminded me a little of that - it gives you the matter-of-fact motivational speech needed by some many youngsters. 4 Stars! "Total Blueprint for World Domination" is an inspirational book for young people. Young people need to think big, and believe in themselves, and this book certainly helps with that! There are motivational speeches and activities gallore. Some of the activities have been seen before, but others are new to me. Occasionally, books heap activities onto the reader like nobody's business, but this book gets it just right. Not too many, and not too few.
