This month's #HistFicThursdays have been all art-inspired, so I'm sticking with that theme! A couple of months ago, the Things to Inspire blog was about sketches . Today's is about finished pieces of artwork! Artwork has been an inspiration for millions of people across thousands of years. Just like a book, the finished product can (hopefully!) be an inspiration. Over the years, we've collected one or two pieces of old artworks, and these are a few... Religious artwork has always been used as an inspiration and, historically, this was how the majority of people interacted with biblical stories. This was a barn find - probably created for someone's own interest judging by the naive style of artwork. It looks like it might have been from a panelled wall at some point. I wonder what happened to the rest of the panels and what story they might show when they are all together... Of course, not all artworks are paintings! Here is a scrimshaw of the Battle of Flamborough
The aim of Crowvus is to bring good quality literature to the public's attention. This blog will concentrate mainly on self published works, or books from Indie publishers because, let's be honest, they deserve as much attention as the big-wigs!
How to Request a Review
If you would like to request a review, send an email to the_team@crowvus.com (Clemency) and write "Book Review - [book title]" in the subject.
In the email, please send:
Book title
Author's name
When it will be/was published
Genre
Blurb
Links to where the book is for sale, or where it will be for sale
Book format (is it an e-book, or hardcopy?)
If I can review your book, I will then get in touch with you and ask for a copy, and a picture of the front cover (for the blog post).
Occasionally, I won't be able to review a book. Usually this is just because of time constraints, but if this is the case, I might contact you about an author interview. This would give a bit of extra exposure and might even introduce some new fans to your work!
If you are needing any more book reviewers, please check out the Indie View. It's a great website specifically for authors who are self- or independently published. We need to stick together, folks!

Where will it be Posted?
Due to the sheer number of book review requests that I've received, I'm narrowing down the books I'll accept. This just means that you're not going to waste your time getting in touch with a book that I won't pick up.
Crowvus Book Blog accepts middle grade, young adult and Historical Fiction books. If you have a children's picture book that you think is absolutely spectacular, feel free to contact me about that as well! Basically, I'm not reading adult books. I just enjoy kidlit so much more!
Genres
Within kidlit, we're fairly open to read any genre. However, favourites are fantasy and adventure. You know, something can reyou ally get my teeth into.
We're also now open to Historical Fiction books.
Firstly, I'm very sorry if I don't get back to you quickly! It doesn't necessarily mean I'm not interested. However, if I still haven't replied within a fortnight (yes, that is a word and not just a computer game!) then you can assume it's a 'no, thank you'.
